Healing stone and crystal pendants are back in if the collection of Healing Stone Wrap Pendants in Topshop are anything to go by. Although not a big believer in the healing properties of crystals or stones (I just can't get my head around it!), I love how they look and thought I'd have a go at creating my very own faux healing crystal necklace. To keep this post from becoming too long and complicated, I've shown you how I created the crystal out of clay in this post and next week, will share with you how I wire wrapped it and turned it into a necklace.
Another quick and easy clay jewellery DIY from me again! I'm loving simple delicate jewellery pieces at the moment and after pulling out a beautiful concrete necklace by Maple + Mauve that one of my friends bought me for my birthday (how lucky am I!), I thought I would have a bash at making my own sphere necklace using air dry clay. I really love the 'dipped' effect that I've seen on some other jewellery pieces and so wanted to also incorporate this.

I love giving gifts to my friends and family. What with furnishing the flat and slowly becoming accustomed to paying bills however, I am rather lacking in funds and so this year I have had to get a bit creative. A few of my friends are aware of how much I enjoy making polymer clay jewellery and have commented that they like those that I have made in the past (e.g. Aztec Bunting Necklace and Tea & crafts), so when their birthdays came up, I decided to make them a necklace myself. Using some materials I already had, I gave them each a totally unique necklace and saved myself a few pennies in the process.
Ah dear, it has been aaages since I last posted on here! I've been so hectic the last month or so - applying for jobs, working hard on my Clinical Psychology Doctorate application (eeek!), working and catching up with friends. I have managed to squeeze in some arts and crafting (accompanied by gallons of tea) which I'm so pleased to finally have the time to share. Made for my good friend over at PurplePigCrafts, this piece was inspired by the Aztec Bunting Necklace I created in a previous post and just generally the abundance of triangles and tribal patterns about.
